On tonight's BLUE, pianist Antti Siirala plays a waltz by Brahms; guitarist Grant Green performs original material; Vashti Bunyan sings one of her own songs; we hear celebrated Romanian pianist Dinu Lipatti with conductor Herbert von Karajan; a self-portrait by Charles Mingus; Joshua Bell "at home" with a sitar-player; Beady Belle (see video), from a new career retrospective; a recent live recording of a Mendelssohn overture by the LSO; and the last of the week's cuts by June Christy, including her low-key reading of a Hoagy Carmichael song.

On Saturday's BLUE, Yevgeny Mravinsky conducts the Leningrad Philharmonic; Sara K. plays a famous Peter Green tune; Grant Green interprets a Miles Davis melody; Renee Fleming sings Lennon/McCartney; we'll hear a cover version of John Barry's "Body Heat"; pianist Dinu Lipatti (see video), with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra; Dizzy Gillespie, recorded live in London back in 1969; singer-songwriter Lynda Cullen (new); 2 more featuring the voice June Christy; a little Mike Oldfield; and Yo-Yo Ma performs a suite for cello and jazz trio.

Tonight, Eamonn links Jason Seitzer's  reinvention of a Bernard Hermann tune that was created for the director Alfred Hitchcock; viola da gamba-player Jordi Savall, from the soundtrack to the film "Marquise"; movie music by ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Cliff Martinez; a third stream orchestral work featuring jazz pianist Bill Evans; another movement from Joby Talbot's extraordinary "Path Of Miracles", an a cappella project that was inspired by the Santiago pilgrimage; Martin Simpson, on slide guitar; Art Pepper, recorded live with the Buddy Rich Big Band (see video - Art being as candid/fanatically confessional as ever); part of a work Michael Nyman wrote in memory of his friend and business manager Tony Simmons; original music by kantele-player Sinikka Langeland; Mike Marshall with Chris Thile; Mark Anthony McGrath. playing a 13-string guitar; Martin Hayes with Dennis Cahill; a selection from "Romaria - Choral Music From Brazil"; the late June Christy; and a vintage recording by a band from Germany called Can.

On Saturday's broadcast, Eamonn brings together the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's reading of a Gershwin lullaby for strings; jazz pianist Teddy Wilson; singer-songwriter Freddie White; Ji Hye Jung (marimba) and Andreas Brantelid (cello), from the 2012 Bantry archives; Irish guitarist Mark Anthony McGrath; Jimmy Greene's memorial to his 6-year-old daughter, Ana Márquez-Greene, whose life was tragically taken - along with 19 other children and 6 teachers - during a Connecticut school shooting in 2012; double helpings of Bach and Beethoven; London-based singer-songwriter Olivia Chaney from her assured debut album; a handful of other new releases; classical guitarist Flavio Cucchi (see video); and the music of Edgarde Varese, sung by a soprano.
